Beata Klimkiewicz, Sabina Mihelj, Danilo Rothberg and Daniel Hallin attended the annual convention of the International Communication Association, which took place on the Gold Coast, Australia, between 20th and 24th June 2024, and presented a paper based on the media policy strand, entitled “More control than support: Populism, the COVID-19 pandemic, and media policies in USA, Brazil, Serbia and Poland”. The paper was very well received and was presented as part of the programme of the Communication Law and Policy Division. The team also took this opportunity to discuss plans for remaining work on the project and possibilities for further joint publications, including a book.
