In November 2023, Dr Katarzyna Vanevska presented a paper at the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) Research Day in Paris. Arcom is the French regulatory authority responsible for regulation of both audiovisual and digital communications. Katarzyna’s paper ‘Populism, the Covid-19 Pandemic and Media Policies in USA, Brazil, Serbia and Poland’ contributed to the panel discussion on ‘The new challenges of content moderation and regulation’. Overall, the event gathered researchers from different countries to present their work on the challenges of the media word such as digital transformation, representation of society in the digital age, regulation of digital platforms and social networks. Katarzyna’s work explored some of these topics and allowed knowledge exchange among fellow researchers.
